For over 30 years, Dacotah Bank has offered scholarships to high school seniors whose families are customers of Dacotah Bank and Dacotah Insurance. Over $70,000 in scholarships were awarded this year throughout South Dakota, North Dakota, and Minnesota. The Timber Lake Head Start kids presented a spring concert for their families and friends at the Timber Lake School Theater on April 30. They performed “If I Were a Duck,” “Five Spotted Dogs,” “Open and Shut,” “Butterfly, Ladybug, Bumblebee,” and “Spring is Here.

Jayne Gunderson Pfeifle may be remembered in local history as the person with the most hours spent in Timber Lake School Building(s). Jayne attended 12 years of school, took a break of two years, then went back to the school as a teacher’s aide and paraeducator for 49 years.

County’s new records vault okayed following inspection

The Dewey County Board of Commissioners and Scott Sikkink of HKG Architects of Aberdeen conducted the final inspection of the Register of Deeds fireproof records vault Thursday, May 7, during the commission’s regular meeting. The board also discussed employee insurance.
