Fire departments receive $500 donations from Moreau-Grand, Basin Electric

Basin Electric Power Cooperative and Moreau-Grand Electric Cooperative believe in and appreciate the hard work performed by volunteer fire departments. Each fall Moreau-Grand Electric Cooperative donates $2,500 to the 10 local volunteer fire departments in its service area and Basin Electric Power Cooperative provides matching funds.

Dewey Co. Commissioners make changes in budget

The Dewey County Commissioners made some reductions in the proposed budget for 2021 at the final budget hearing on September 8. The final result was a budget of $3,289,062, which is $316,297 less than the 2020 budget of $3,605,359 and $453,592 less than the preliminary 2021 budget of $3,742,654.

CRST reports active COVID cases down to 24 Tuesday

The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe reported this week that the total number of COVID-19 cases in Dewey and Ziebach counties had reached 169, but the number of active cases had dropped from the mid-30s last week to 24 as of Tuesday, Sept. 15.

Watch for counterfeit bills

Following several reports of counterfeit money turning up at businesses in North Dakota, the Mobridge Police Department initiated an investigation last week after a fake bill was passed and someone attempted to pass a second bill.

DAPL facing renewed legal bid for complete shutdown

National Honor Society inducts 13 new members

Thirteen new members were inducted into the National Honor Society in a ceremony at Timber Lake High School on August 25. The ceremony was to have been held last spring but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
