Horizon Build Dakota scholarships open for 2026-2027

For the third year in a row Horizon Health is offering scholarships to technical colleges in South Dakota. Applications are open January 1 to March 31, 2026.Full-ride scholarships are provided to successful candidates through the Build Dakota Scholarship Program.

Marcus Patrick Aberle was born on October 24, 2025 at 6:50 p.m. in Bismarck, ND. He weighed 8 lbs., 7 oz. and measured 21 inches.His parents are Casey and Melissa Aberle of Timber Lake. He joins four siblings: Lincoln, Trevor, Jessa and Kara Aberle.

President signs law protecting Wounded Knee Memorial Site

President Donald Trump signed the Wounded Knee Massacre Memorial and Sacred Site Act (H.R. 165) into law on Dec.19, preserving land for the Oglala and Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe (CRST) to memorialize the tragic event, a crucial step in federal recognition and protection of the sacred site.
