Jewett appointed magistrate for Fourth Judicial Circuit

Crystal (Stambach) Jewett has been appointed magistrate/clerk of courts for the Fourth Judicial Circuit courts in Dewey and Ziebach counties.She replaces Judy Anderson, who has retired. Deputy Colleen Keller has also retired and is not being replaced.

County board approves supplement to budget

In a 27-minute special meeting on Tuesday, December 23, the Dewey County Commission took care of some end-of-year business.The board approved a budget supplement of $256,234.94 – the amount spent to date on the Register of Deeds vault project. The money came from cash on hand in the building fund.

Maher re-elected rodeo association president

Shaun Maher was reelected president of the Timber Lake Rodeo Association at the group’s annual meeting on December 17. Terry Aberle and Deryk Long stepped down from the board of directors and Troy Long and Cody Hanssen were elected to replace them.

Lola Elias-Hulm graduates from STC

Lola Elias-Hulm of Timber Lake graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southeast Technical College in Sioux Falls with the conclusion of the fall 2025 semester. A commencement ceremony was held Decbemer 12 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.Lola earned her Certificate in Community Health Worker.

Linderman named to STC President’s List

Abby Linderman of Timber Lake was named to the Southeast Technical College President’s List for the fall 2025 semester. She earned a grade point average of 3.5 or higher in the Surgical Technology program.
