Suicidal man safely talked down from Eagle Butte elevator

Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Police Chief Charles Red Crow said quick-thinking, professionalism, and compassion were displayed by law enforcement officers on Monday, June 16, who were able to talk a man down from the top of a grain elevator, where he had climbed and was exhibiting suicidal intent.

Area firefighters work overnight to control hay bale fire north of TL

The Timber Lake Fire Department, with the help of volunteer firefighters from five other communities, battled a fire Sunday night and into Monday at the Jim and Patrick Maher ranch north of Timber Lake.

State DPS issues warning regarding traffic ticket scam

The South Dakota Department of Public Safety (DPS) is warning residents about a scam text message campaign circulating across the state that falsely claims recipients owe traffic ticket fines and face legal action if they do not pay immediately.These messages are not legitimate.

ND couple to serve prison time for meth distribution

United States Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell announced that U.S. District Judge Charles B. Kornmann has sentenced a North Park, ND man and a Bismarck, ND woman who were convicted of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. The sentencing took place last Tuesday, June 2.
