Expanded ‘Move Over’ law takes effect July 1

A newly updated ‘Move Over’ law goes into effect across South Dakota on July 1, expanding protections for authorized vehicles occupying the shoulder of the highway with amber, yellow, or blue warning lights. The goal is simple: keep more people safe on our roadways.

The price Dewey County is paying for gravel was incorrect in a story on page 3 of the June 12 issue of the Topic. The commissioners accepted bids from Floyd Smith and Debbie and Lawrence Goldade for $1.75 per ton, not $175.00 per ton.
