Safety first when dealing with natural gas this winter

With winter right around the corner, the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission is highlighting the importance of following natural gas safety recommendations, including keeping natural gas meters and vents clear of snow and ice, all season long.

The All-State Chorus and Orchestra concert was held in Sioux Falls on November 1. It was conducted by Dr. Jeffery Redding. Timber Lake High School singers participating were (L-R) Maddie Gray, Maria Scherer, Jesse Ridl, and Anna Kraft.

Free college application period ends Nov. 30

South Dakota’s annual Free College Application Period, a key initiative to increase awareness of higher education opportunities across the state, continues through Nov. 30 allowing high school seniors to apply to any of the state’s public universities and technical colleges free of charge.

Audrey Jackson, Janet Gill, and Fran Milliken filled plates at the Prairie Parish Fall Festival held November 9 at the Timber Lake Community Center. A large crowd enjoyed the ham and turkey dinner and bid on silent and live auction items.

Pletan joins staff at Western Dakota Bank locations

Jody Pletan has been hired as Ag Loan Officer at Western Dakota Bank and Livestock and Crop Insurance Agent for Western Dakota Services. He has been working at both the Timber Lake and Isabel locations since October 8.
