Each year schools across the country are invited to select a Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen from among their students. Selection is based on dependability, service and patriotism.

While many people tell students to ‘get an education so that you can get a better job’, there is a lot more to the plan than that. After the high school education is complete, many career paths are quite specific as to the training needed to get those jobs and training is expensive.

Timber Lake FD responds to house fires, reminds residents to check smoke detectors

The Timber Lake Fire Department has responded to two house fires in the past two weeks with both resulting in property loss.Fire Chief Jeremy Bollinger said the first call was Oct. 19 to a home on North G Street in Timber Lake where the attached garage was engulfed in flames.
