Dewey County Library happenings

REMINDER: It’s time to register your child(ren) for the Dewey Co. Library’s Summer Reading Program. The dates are July 9, 16, 23 and 30 from 9:30 to 10:30 for ages 5 to 10. Your child or a family member must have a library card completed before July 9 to participate.

State judicial system warns residents of jury duty scam

The South Dakota Unified Judicial System (UJS) is warning the public about a jury duty scam targeting people in South Dakota.UJS was informed earlier this month that the Stanley County Sheriff ’s Office in Fort Pierre received more than 30 reports in one day regarding suspicious phone calls.

More than 225 guns seized by state law enforcement agents

United States Attorney Alison J. Ramsdell announced Monday, June 30, that over the course of 2024, federal, state, tribal, and local law enforcement agencies seized 230 firearms that were possessed in violation of federal law.
