Many days of rain gave way to some sunshine for the weekend. On Saturday, Jared Hollenbeck and Kyrie Lemburg visited Craig, Cathy and Vi Lemburg and Donel Ochsner in Selby while Mason Hollenbeck visited Anette and Abby Hollenbeck in Mobridge.

Timber Lake weather observer Joe Scherer retiring June 1

Joe Scherer, who has been recording temperatures and precipitation at Timber Lake for nearly 20 years, is retiring from the volunteer post effective June 1.National Weather Service spokesperson Scott Doering told the Topic this week that the NWS is looking for someone to replace Scherer.

U.S. Highway 12 closed between Morristown -Watauga

As of May 15, the construction zone on U.S. Highway 12 between Morristown and Watauga is closed. The highway will remain closed until weather conditions improve. Dirt grade must be dried to a stable condition before reopening.Flaggers are in place at the Highway 12 and S.D.

On May 4, representatives of the Timber Lake High School chapter of the National Honor Society delivered 30 boxes of clothing and toiletries to the Sacred Heart Women’s Shelter in Eagle Butte.
