Four of Timber Lake’s starting five players hit double figures as the Lady Panthers pulled away from Herreid-Selby Area (HSA) in the second half to collect a 55-42 win in non-conference girls basketball action Monday, Dec. 19.
Timber Lake, 3-0, will return from the Christmas break to battle North Central in Eureka on Thursday, Dec. 29, and hosts Faith on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
Six points from Jordyn Rossow had HSA on top 13-11 after one quarter and after an even second quarter, the Wolverines went into halftime on top 24-22.
Sparked by four Carlie Lawrence 3-pointers, Timber Lake outscored HSA 17-8 in the third frame to move in front 39-32 and then converted 8-of-14 free throw attempts in the final eight minutes to ensure the win.
Lawrence finished with a teamhigh 17 points, including five treys in the second half. Shay Kraft pitched in 15 points, Kendyl Locken added 11 and Jasmine Nash scored 10. McKenzi Vomacka rounded out the Lady Panther scoring with two points. Timber Lake went 16-for-26 at the charity stripe.
Rossow poured in 18 points and added 12 rebounds to lead HSA while Jade Rossow added eight points.
