Wesley Cook, 59, of Belle Fourche died Monday, February 23, 2026 at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at the Belle Fourche Global Methodist Church. Arrangements were with Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.
Wesley James Cook was born September 16, 1966 in Mobridge to Norman and Edith (Perry) Cook. He grew up in Timber Lake, Washington State, and Belle Fourche.
He was united in marriage to Kristine Juhala in 1988.
When he was just 13 years old, Wes learned to drive a truck. By the time he was 16 he had his commercial license. He drove truck for Rapid Construction, hauling bentonite, but when he got into logging, that was his true love.
In 2005 he purchased his first logging truck. For the past 7 years, Wes has been trucking over the road for W & K Trucking. For the past two years he trucked with his son-in-law, Q’Andre. This past January, Wes was forced to retire from trucking due to health reasons.
Wes was a caring man. He was talented at fixing things and making them work again.
Wes is survived by his wife, Kris of Belle Fourche; children, Amanda (Q’Andre) Edwards, Justin (Jordan Knight), James, and Machellea Cook, all of Belle Fourche; 6 grandchildren: Isabellea, John, Davon, Remy, Alivia, and Aksel; brothers Monte Cook of Arizona and Robin Cook of North Dakota; and sisters Margaret “Peggy” Tichi of Belle Fourche, and Ruby (Don) Kuhn of Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchild Jordan Curl; brother Andy Cook; and brother-inlaw Lurey Tishi.
