Funeral services were held April 9, 2024 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte. Burial was in the LDS Cemetery at Cherry Creek.

Shayla grew up in Eagle Butte and attended Cheyenne-Eagle Butte School and graduated in May 2005.

Shayla loved spending time with her mom and family. Shayla became a proud and protective mom to D’Angelo when he was two weeks old and she raised him as her own.

Shayla liked attending pow wows with D’Angelo and getting him involved with Lakota teachings. She enjoyed cooking and baking, watching new releases of movies with her son and reading while at dialysis.
