Shawn Condon, 41, of Eagle Butte passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Cheyenne River Health Center in Eagle Butte.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 29, 2026 at CRST Bingo Hall in Eagle Butte. Burial followed in the Eagle Butte Cemetery.
Shaun Chayne Condon was born August 24, 1984 in Eagle Butte to Lynette Condon-Runs After. He grew up in the Eagle Butte community and attended Cheyenne River Head Start and Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Schools. He obtained his GED certificate.
He worked with the CRST Border Patrol during the COVID-19 pandemic, where they monitored traffic coming in and going out of the CRST reservation boundaries. He also worked for the CRST Transportation Department and at Cheyenne River Housing Authority.
While Shaun was growing up, he spent a lot of time with the Dale and Eleanor Iron Lightning families. He was like an extra son. He enjoyed gambling and won big at different times at the casino. Some of his winnings enabled him to buy himself vehicles and an RV trailer, which he parked outside his mother’s place and lived there.
Shaun was a calm person, very easy-going, he was funny and was always respectful.
Shaun is survived by his mother, Lynette Condon-Runs After; step-father Murphy Runs After; sisters Katie, Rebecca, Cherae, Tiffany, Eliana and Cara; mother of his son Chyler and stepdaughter Enaysa, Ronette Cook; grandfather Russell Benoist; grandmothers Betty Handley and Clarice Miner; and aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding him in death are his grandparents Chester and Faye Condon, Cordelia Benoist, Russell Flying By, Wilbur Flying By, Menoda Flying By, Myron and Byron Flying By, and Marilyn Runs After; aunts Lisa Condon, Holly Condon, Marisa Benoist and Angie Benoist; cousin Condelaria Peralta; and niece Jada Runs After.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg was in charge of arrangements.
