August 25, 1935 – March 30, 2026____________________________________
Sharon Lois Trudell, 90, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026. A woman of many talents and deep devotion to her family, Sharon lived a life defined by resilience, service, and a sharp wit.
Sharon was born on August 25, 1935 in Timber Lake. She attended St. Joseph Indian School in Chamberlain. She attended St. Paul’s Indian Mission School in Marty graduating with honors and receiving two full ride scholarships. She continued her education at Nazareth College (now known as Spaulding) of Kentucky before beginning her professional life.
It was while working for a recruiting office that Sharon met Kenneth Trudell. Together, they embarked on a life of service as Sharon took on the demanding and honorable role of a full-time Navy wife while raising their family in Aurora, CO.
Sharon was a woman of remarkable skill. An outstanding seamstress, she took great pride in making her own clothes and beautiful outfits for her children. Her hands were rarely still; when she wasn’t sewing, she was crocheting or challenging herself with crossword puzzles. She was also an accomplished bowler who shared her passion by teaching the sport to children. Whether at the bowling alley or cheering from the sidelines of her kids' sports activities, she was their most steadfast supporter.
Throughout her life, Sharon remained deeply connected to her heritage. She cherished the travels she took with her husband during his Navy leaves, especially the trips back to her native roots in South Dakota. Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Trudell.
She is survived by her four children: daughter Karen Trudell Haas of Amelia Island, FL; sons Michael Trudell (Nancy) of Ellsworth, WI, Steven Trudell and David Trudell (Patsy) of Aurora; grandchildren Jennifer McIntyre (Peter), Tucker McIntyre (Antonia), Rainie McIntyre, Zachary Haas (Holly), Allyson Haas(Caleb), Tyler Trudell, Jessie Trudell, Emily Trudell, Madisen Trudell and Logan Trudell; and sister Donna Auger of Loveland, CO.
Services were April 8 at Horan & McConaty Funeral Parlor in Aurora.
