Raetta Mae Haack, born on February 24, 1946, to Eugene and Janice Haack, possessed an extraordinary gift for performing and a voice that could convey the most enchanting melodies. At a young age, she was chosen to sing on the Lawrence Welk show; although she chose an alternative path, it was a remarkable achievement that she cherished in her heart.
Raetta married Mike Voller in Timber Lake where they raised two children, LaVonne and Justin.
Raetta married Leonard Martian in Glencross. For a few years, they shared ownership of a dairy farm with Leonard’s family before relocating to Bismarck, ND in 1984.
Raetta found her career’s pinnacle at Metropolitan Federal Bank, where she forged lifelong friendships. Her colleagues frequently observed her radiant demeanor as she was so proud of her chosen career path and friends she made.
Raetta never lost her passion for singing. She was a proud member of Sweet Adelines singing group, performing at various venues, including trips to Rochester, MN, where they competed nationally. Raetta also enjoyed performing annually at the Belle Auditorium in Bismarck.
Raetta cherished surprise visits from friends and family and always prepared her home for such unexpected encounters just in case someone stopped by for a visit.
As a devoted mother, Raetta was the biggest cheerleader for her children, LaVonne and Justin. They always found her in their corner, just like many other family members and friends. Raetta loved her grandchildren and was always delighted to see them whenever possible.
Raetta’s life was filled with cherished moments, such as fishing trips with Leonard, card games with her brother Brad (Elaine) and sister-inlaw Judy (Erv), and other family visits filled with laughter and unconditional love.
Raetta had a deep love for life. She always found a smile to give, a free hug, and an excitement to see anyone after time apart. She consistently offered unconditional love to everyone she met.
Despite being diagnosed with dementia at an early age, Raetta continued to radiate her smile and share her winks of happiness.
