Nettie Overseth

May 26, 1929 – February 13, 2025

Memorial services for Nettie Overseth, 95, of Mobridge will be at 11 a.m. CT, Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. Inurnment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Nettie passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the Wishek Hospital in Wishek, ND.

Nettie was born May 26, 1929, in Trail City to John and Rosa (Shrenk) Krein.

In her 95 years, she saw a lot of changes, including indoor plumbing, color TV, and electric cooking gadgets. In her 80’s and 90’s she was able to learn how to use a cell phone, a computer and even Facebook as well as spending time on Facetime calls with her family.

Nettie attended Hoffert Country School near Trail City until she graduated from the 8th grade. Then she attended McLaughlin Public School for two years, living in a dormitory.

After graduating she worked various jobs, including housekeeping at the Old Railroad Hospital in Mobridge.

Nettie was confirmed in the Grace Congregational German Church in Mobridge.

Nettie married Robert E. Overseth on June 8,1952 in Mobridge. Nettie was a stay-at-home mom and helped her husband Robert run his animal health care business.

Besides the work that went into the daily care of her family and the business, she always had a good breakfast, lunch and dinner ready on a moment’s notice. Once all the children graduated from high school, she went to work outside the home.

Nettie worked for Al Berger at Bridge City Lanes and Pizza for three years. She then went to work in housekeeping and laundry at the Mobridge Care Center for the next 12 years. She rode her bike to and from work every day.

She was a member of The Women of the Moose and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1952 when she married Robert.

Nettie was preceded in death by her son Tim, her mother and father, eight brothers, and one sister.

Nettie is survived by her sons, Harley (Carrie) of Mobridge and Terry (Deb) of Yankton; her daughter, Pam Hare (Greg) of Rapid City; daughter-in-law Cindy Overseth of Wishek; a sister, Margie Lemburg of Selby; five grandchildren, Shannon, Jeremy, Nathan, Haleigh and Aysha; and four step-grandchildren, Dale, Shelly, John and Jason.

During her last years in Wishek, she spent many days doing crafts and playing bingo and games.
