Jesse Janis, 44, of Green Grass entered the Spirit World on Monday, October 21, 2024 at Monument Health Hospital at Rapid City. Rooks Funeral Home of Eagle Butte was in charge of arrangements.
A funeral service was held Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the Bingo Hall. Cremation and a memorial service will take place at a later date.
Jesse is survived by his sons, Darius James, Devon James, Dillon James, and Brudius, all of Montana; two daughters, Heather Eagle Bear of Rapid City and Jaris Morrison of Eagle Butte; his mother, Mary Thin Elk of Rapid City; a brother, Raymond Thin Elk of Rapid City; four sisters: Florentine Black Spotted Horse of Rapid City, Theodora Belt of Bridger, April Janis of Wanblee, and Vanessa Janis of Deadwood.
