Emily Hollow Horn

August 12, 1999 – March 22, 2025

Emily Rae Hollow Horn, 25, of Iron Lightning passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025 in Dupree.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte. Burial followed in St. Luke’s Episcopal Cemetery at Iron Lightning.

Emily Rae Hollow Horn was born August 12, 1999 to Veldon Emery Hollow Horn and Lee Bear Eagle at the I.H.S. Hospital in Eagle Butte. She joined her three brothers, Collins, Veldon, and Charles. Her siblings who followed are Tristan and Noah, who were all very close.

Emily grew up in Iron Lightning until the age of four, then moved to Dupree where she attended Cheyenne River Head Start and then Dupree High School. She participated in JrH basketball. Shortly after she was drawn to the Job Corps in Box Elder, where she had made multiple friends. She had the opportunity to be a volunteer firefighter which took her to fires in Wyoming, Oregon, and Washington. She finished her Job Corps duty as an electrician, then moved to Pierre with close friends. While she was there, she worked at Arby’s and then moved home shortly after.

She was employed at LTM throughout her final years where she greeted everyone with a smile. She loved spending time with her children, family, and friends making everyone laugh and creating precious memories.

Emily is survived by her mother, Lee and stepfather, Elwood High Elk; daughter Jessica S. Red Dog; sons Jake T. and Rain C. Hollow Horn; sister Tristan Little Wounded; brothers Collins Willie, Veldon Hollow Horn Jr., and Noah Little Wounded; aunt Lonna Chavez; uncles Justin Bear Eagle and Chip Baumeister; and nieces Kayleigh Hollow Horn and Flora J. Clown.

Emily was preceded in death by her brother Charles T. Hollow Horn; cousins Jessica Bear Eagle, Angel Bear Eagle, and Marissa Bear Eagle; uncle Bruce Bear Eagle; aunt Mary Bear Eagle; father Veldon Hollow Horn Sr.; grandmother Cece Baumeister; paternal grandmother Pearl Hollow Horn; paternal grandfather Emmett “Cheese” Hollow Horn; grandpa Juan Jojola “Pops”; and many more relatives she joins in the star nation.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg was in charge of arrangements.
