Celebration of life services for Cassandra Crowshoe, 36, of Timber Lake were held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Timber Lake Community Center. Inurnment was at Emmanuel Episcopal Cemetery in White Horse. Cassandra passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025, in Aberdeen.

She was born on October 14, 1989, in Sheridan, WY.

Cassandra was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. She excelled academically at Tiospaye Topa and Timber Lake High School, where she received the academic achievement award in 2008 from Senator Mike Rounds. Her intelligence and dedication shone through. A talented singer with a beautiful voice, Cassandra also had a passion for doing nails, makeup, and dance. Her creativity and artistic spirit touched everyone around her.

Cassandra worked at Lakota Cash and spent time living in Kankakee, IL. Most recently, she lived in Timber Lake with her grandmother, Mary Ann On The Tree.

As the eldest grandchild of Karen Miller, Cassandra was affectionately known as “Mama Cass” by her brothers and cousins, who looked up to her, loved her cooking, and cherished the care she provided. One of her greatest joys was being an aunt to her nieces and nephews: Dante, Dayson, Harleigh, Desmond, Paxson, Weston, Eleina, Cianna, and Jesenya.

Cassandra was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Sophia Winneshiek; her grandmother Karen Miller; and cousin Khan Little Light.

She is survived by her father, Todd Knudson; brothers Nick and Tyler Gutierrez; aunt Jessica Crowshoe; uncle Tyrone Crowshoe; grandmother Mary Ann On The Tree; cousins Devon Crowshoe, Delisa Williams, Leilla Winneshiek, Noah Winneshiek, and Jayden Iron Rope; nieces and nephews; her stepchildren; and many family members and friends.

Cassandra’s warmth, generosity, and love will be remembered by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of care, creativity, and devotion to her family.
