Memorial services for Calvin Kraft, 59, of Isabel were on Monday, October 13, 2025, at New Hope Church in Timber Lake.
Calvin Richard Kraft was born in Mobridge on June 29, 1966, and passed away on October 7, 2025. He grew up with two older brothers, Casey and Clay. He lived in Mobridge in his younger years. His family lived in California for a few years, then moved back to South Dakota, where they settled in Timber Lake. He graduated from Timber Lake High School in 1984. He served in the Army for two years, then came back to Mobridge.
He married Mary Baer on February 15, 2003. They resided in Mobridge until they moved to Isabel.
Calvin was a carpenter by trade. He helped and raised many kids as his own. His passions in life were hunting, fishing, love of animals, and being in the mountains. Calvin was a man who would help anyone in need.
Calvin is survived by his wife Mary; mother Maryann Kraft; father Fred Kraft; brother Casey; son Chapin (Lexi); granddaughters Nova and Amora; grandson Reese; godson Hunter Smith; niece Tonia Yuker (Billy); nephew Dustin Kraft; great-nieces Bella and Gracie Yuker; aunt Judy; longtime friend Harley “Gunny” Gunville; and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son Quentin “Ty”; brother Clay; his grandparents; longtime friend Farrel Smith; and his favorite dog Zip.
