October 10, 1953 – December 2, 2025___________________________________

Albert T. Red Fox, 72, of Eagle Butte passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City.

Funeral services were on Friday, December 12, 2025, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte. Burial followed in St. Paul’s Episcopal Cemetery at LaPlant.

Albert Thomas “Kingworm” Red Fox was born on October 10, 1953, at the Old Cheyenne Agency to Harry and Audrey (Sand) Howard Red Fox. He grew up at the Old Cheyenne Agency and Eagle Butte area and attended school at the Agency and Eagle Butte.

Kingworm was the youngest boy in the family and lived life in his own joyful and unique way. He loved to have a good time.

He worked many years for the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe as a court processor and bailiff, where he made countless friends. He and his older brother, Edward Red Fox, who served as a police officer, loved to go out dancing on the weekends. Kingworm was well-known for his signature “worm dance,” and together the brothers collected plenty of tips performing at local bars.

Albert shared his life with his special friend, Maxine Brings Plenty. Although he never had children of his own, he cherished his nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren as though they were his. Family gatherings and holidays were especially meaningful to him – a time for food, laughter, and simply being together. He enjoyed his dogs as well, especially Chihauhas.

He also loved attending the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally each year, making sure he never missed the chance to grab a new t-shirt.

Albert is survived by his special friend, Maxine Brings Plenty; hunka siblings Catherine Tsosie, Caroline Sand, Ila Sand, Joyce Edwards, Dennis Sand, and Ida Colby High Horse; adopted brother, Raymond Two Crow; nieces and nephews; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Edward Red Fox; hunka siblings Tom and Frank Sand; grandma Ida White Dog Sand; and grandpa Albert Sand.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg was in charge of arrangements.
