TeriLynn Jewett-Janis, 27, of Rapid City and formerly of Eagle Butte entered the Spirit World on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at her home in Rapid City, surrounded by family and friends.
TeriLynn is survived by her husband, Kooleo Janis of Rapid City; a son, Kooleo Janis of Rapid City; two daughters, Klover Janis and Camellia Janis of Rapid City; her parents, Gregory Black Elk and Gwendolyn Jewett of Rapid City; two brothers, Bobby Buckman of Sioux Falls and William Many Wounds, Jr. of Bismarck, ND; seven sisters: Manueleta Jewett, Precious Black Elk, ShaTori Black Elk, Codi Iron Road, Samantha Iron Road and Sierra Wright of Rapid City and Cassandra Black Elk of Bismarck.
A wake service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the Common Ground Center at Rapid City. A traditional Lakota funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Common Ground Center, with Mike Cross officiating. The burial of cremains will take place at a later date.
