Mass of Christian Burial for Lois Holzer, 97, of Timber Lake was held July 27, 2026 at Holy Cross Church in Timber Lake. Burial was at Timber Lake Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home.
Lois passed away on July 18, 2026 at Rolling Hills Health Care in Belle Fourche.
Lois Anne Coyle was born April 28, 1929 to Justus and Iva (McGuire) Coyle at the family farm north of Timber Lake in Corson County. The family moved to Timber Lake in 1936. She attended the Taylor and Pleasant View country schools and St. Joseph Catholic School in Timber Lake. She graduated from Timber Lake High School in 1947.
She married Michael Holzer on October 12, 1948 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Timber Lake. She was employed by the PMA at the time of her marriage. Later she was Deputy Register of Deeds and in 1967 she started working for USDA Farmers Home Administration, where she retired in 1994.
She is survived by her three sons, Stan of Timber Lake, Dan (Debbie) of Vancouver, WA, and Dennis (Jodi) of Deadwood; daughter Dianne Valle (Jerry) of Colorado Springs, CO; son-in-law Don Tucker (Sharon) of Federal Way, WA; brother David Coyle of Minneapolis, MN, and sisters Kathleen Keller of Sioux Falls, Rita Christie of Escondido, CA, and LaVonne Daniel of Vacaville CA; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Mike; her parents; two brothers, Joe and Donald; her daughter, Sharon Tucker, and two grandsons, Michael and Steven.
She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Holy Cross Altar Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.
