Marvin Dale Gill, 88, peacefully passed away August 7, 2025, in Kirkland, WA, with his family at his side.
Marvin was born February, 23, 1937, in Isabel to Matise and Lavina (Veride) Gill.
Marvin graduated from Isabel High School in 1955. Immediately following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After his honorable discharge, he moved to California and worked as a diesel mechanic for International Harvester.
While living in Mobridge, Marvin enjoyed participating in rodeos in “Old Men’s” breakaway roping. He was given the name “Rocket Man” by his rodeo friends when, while roping, his horse came to an abrupt stop and Marvin “kept going.”
Marvin made his retirement home in Kirkland, near family members.
Marvin is survived by his sons Marlin and Kory; daughter Candace; grandchildren Jace, Lyric and Kyla; brothers Darrell and Roy; and many nieces and nephews.
Marvin was predeceased by his parents, brother Keith and wife Nadine.
Services for Marvin will be held at a later date.
