Funeral services for Robert Pretty Boy, 77, of Eagle Butte were held on August 18, 2025, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte. Burial was at the St. Paul’s Cemetery in LaPlante. Robert passed away on August 8, 2025, at his home in Eagle Butte.
Robert Roy Pretty Boy was born on November 21, 1947 to Myrtle Yellow Hawk and Archie Pretty Boy. He attended school at the Old Agency and St. Joe’s in Chamberlain, then came back to Eagle Butte and graduated in 1967.
In 1968 Bob enlisted in the army and left for Vietnam; he was honorably discharged in 1972. That same year Bob was married to Pamela Snyder and to this union came one daughter, Tanya Marie Pretty Boy.
Bob held various jobs, in law enforcement, working with handicapped children, working at the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Telephone, and at the Comprehensive Work Therapy Building. In his later years Bob became a taco stand builder. Every year we sold tacos during the CRST Labor Day celebration. Besides putting up the stand Bob made chili, salsa and cooked all the meat.
Bob is survived by his brother Corbin B. LeBeau; sisters Karen J. LeBeau Garreau (Jeff) and Wendy B. LeBeau (Terry O’Neal).
He is preceded in death by his daughter Tanya M. Pretty Boy, sisters Lillian LeBeau Chase, Lavera LeBeau Levell, Francine LeBeau Iron Wing, and Colette LeBeau Iron Hawk; brothers Dyle LeBeau, Lyle LeBeau, Fain LeBeau, Kevin LeBeau, and Barrend LaBeau; his father, Archie Pretty Boy; and his mother and stepfather, Myrtle Yellow Hawk LeBeau and Phillip LeBeau.
