Richard (Ricky) Dean Blue Coat, 64, of Eagle Butte, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025, at his home in Denver, CO.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at CRST Bingo Hall, Eagle Butte. Burial followed in St. Thomas Episcopal Cemetery, On The Tree.
Ricky Dean Blue Coat was born August 4, 1960, to Jerry V. and Thelma E. (Janis) Blue Coat in Dewey County. He attended school in Eagle Butte and Minneapolis, MN, later joining the Job Corps.
Ricky lived for a short time in Eagle Butte, then in Denver until the time of his passing.
Richard is survived by his children: Derek Blue Coat of Bemidji, MN and adopted twins, Kim and Misty of Eagle Butte; two sisters, Mary Ann Blue Coat and Joyce Young Bird of Eagle Butte and one aunt Margie Clown of Eagle Butte.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Keifer; two sisters Charlotte and Rita; three brothers Arnold, Vincent and Dale; nieces Rita LeBeau and Belinda Brown Wolf; and nephews Vincent Black Bird and Soloman Black Bird.
