Marty L. Takes The Knife, 56, of Eagle Butte passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Cheyenne River Health Center, Eagle Butte.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. MT, Monday June 9, 2025, at the CRST Bingo Hall, Eagle Butte. Burial will follow in the Dupris Family Cemetery, rural Eagle Butte. A wake will begin at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the bingo hall with a procession from the 4-mile junction at 4:00 p.m.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Marty’s arrangements.
Marty Lynn Takes The Knife was born March 24, 1969, in Eagle Butte to Josephine Fisherman and Tyrone Takes The Knife Sr.
Marty attended school in Eagle Butte and later received his GED. He was in the boxing club, played football, and also rode saddle bronc during his Jr. high and high school years at C-EB. He received his CDL certification and drove a school bus for C-EB. Marty worked in construction in Rapid City for a brief period, but Eagle Butte was always home to him. He was a quiet man and didn’t want any extra attention. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Marty is survived by his son, Jordan; brothers Tyrone Jr.(Darla) and Jerry; and one sister, Tally Jo “TJ”.
He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Larry.
