Betty Jo Berg Ward, 58, of Dickinson, ND passed away on February 3, 2025 at the St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND. Funeral services were held February 11, 2025 at the Bowman, ND Lutheran Church. Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Home Chapel of Bowman was in charge of arrangements.
Betty was born on New Year’s Eve 1966 to Harold “Swede” and Alda (Steiger) Berg. She grew up in Rhame, ND, where she graduated from high school in 1985. She attended college in Wahpeton, ND before returning home to begin working full time.
On April 16, 1986 Betty’s first daughter, Amber Michelle, was born. Then on July 16, 1998, Betty and Amber welcomed Cianna Jo into their family.
Betty worked very hard, sometimes holding down two and three jobs.
She worked a long stint at Cenex in Bowman. After Amber graduated from high school Betty went back to college at Dickinson State University to get a degree in accounting. After her graduation they moved back to Bowman. She continued her employment at Cenex, where she met her future husband, Charlie Ward, while they were both employed there. They were married on May 5, 2017 in Bowman. They moved to Dickinson and eventually bought a place in the country north of Dickinson.
She found her dream job when she began working at West Dakota Vet Clinic in May of 2022.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brother Junior Berg; daughter Cianna Carlson; brother-in-law Gordie Aas; stepsons James(JD) and Cody Ward; step-grandson Tucker Ward; and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Betty leaves her husband Charlie Ward of Dickinson; brother Phil Berg (Linda) of Rhame; sisters Edith Aas of Jasper, MN and Theresa Berg of Rhame; daughter Amber Anderson(Jordan) of Rhame; stepson Robert Ward of San Diego, CA; grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.
