Elvis Fast Horse, 37, of Sioux Falls entered the Spirit World on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Sioux Falls.
Funeral services were held September 14, 2024, at Little Eagle. Burial was at Elkhorn UCC Cemetery under the direction of Rooks Funeral Home of Mobridge.
Elvis “E” Wayne Fast Horse was born on March 9, 1987 to Minnie Fast Horse. Growing up in White Horse he showed a natural talent for horsemanship, learning to break horses and participating in memorial horseback rides—traditions that connected him to his Lakota roots.
In the early 2000s, Elvis relocated to Wakpala, where he attended Smee Public School. It was there that he met his sister, Bethany End of Horn. Together, they shared many memorable experiences, one of which was their involvement in the Bahá’í Faith group. Their faith led them on travels to various parts of the United States and to Canada, broadening Elvis’s appreciation for spirituality and culture.
He than moved to Sioux Fall where he built a new chapter of his life.
He left a lasting impact of brotherhood, love, and humor. His legacy lives on through the many friendships he forged and the countless lives he touched along the way.
He is survived by his mother, Minnie Fast Horse; step-dad Timothy Good Bird; brother Darwin Fast Horse; sister Vannessa Fast Horse; uncles Myron Fast Horse and Sonny Lou Chasing Hawk; nieces Aaliyah Annamitta and Malania Fast Horse; nephew Hiesen Different Horse; five grandchildren; special sister Bethany End Of Horn; other siblings, Kermit, Kermitta, Donielle, Kristen Miner, Kimberly Smith, Sonya Young, Gina Yells Eagle; and aunt Audrey and Matt Elk Looks Back Elvis is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Nancy Chasing Hawk; uncles Edison, Junior, and Donovan “Donut” Fast Horse; brother Nephi “Amps” Fast Horse; and sister Tashina Johnson.
