February 15, 1950 – February 27, 2024
Robert “Bob” Lee Thares passed away February 27, 2024 at Lee Memorial Hospital, Ft. Myers, FL due to kidney failure. Bob was born to LeeRoy and Patricia Thares on February 15, 1950. He graduated from Timber Lake High School in 1968. He joined the Air Force in February of 1969. He married Jeni Dawson on July 16, 1982. After being stationed all over the world and half of the United States, he retired from the Air Force in May of 2002. Bob and Jeni retired in Winchester, KY and spent winters in Ft. Myers.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jeni of Winchester; stepson Ron Dawson of Winchester; brothers Jeffery (Luisa) Thares of Danville, CA, Timothy (Terri) Thares of Modale, IA, and Steven Thares of Marshall, MN; sisters Cheryl (Paul) Zinter of Aberdeen and Kimberly (Toby) Biel of Java.
He was preceded in death by his parents LeeRoy and Patricia Thares of Timber Lake, and his sister, Deb, in August of 2023. Burial and military rites will be held at a later date.
