This winter, the Timber Lake School District joined a growing trend across the United States by adding eSports - otherwise known as competitive video gaming - to its list of extracurricular activities.
The youngest participant in the 11th Annual Lake Isabel Ice Fishing Tournament on Saturday was two-yearold Jaxon Hollenbeck, son of Nathan and Emily Hollenbeck of Mobridge. Jaxon, who turns 3 on Feb. 1, was the third place winner in the Youth Panfish Division. He is the grandson of Grady and Bobbi Jo Kraft of Timber Lake and Dustin and Annete Hollenbeck of Mobridge.

11th annual Isabel Lake Ice Fishing Tournament draws a crowd

Dupree School presents one-act play: Fast Food

The Dupree School brought some giggles to the gym with their performance of the one act play Fast Food. The play Fast Food is a short comedy by Tracy Wells and is about teens working in the fast-food business named MacBurgers. The play takes you through various situations that happen in MacBurgers.

Lemmon native picked to lead U.S. Air Force

A Lemmon native and graduate of South Dakota State University will be the next leader of the U.S. Air Force, pending confirmation.Troy Meink has been nominated by President Donald Trump to be the next secretary of the Air Force. Meink is a 1988 graduate of SDSU’s engineering program.

Three CRST members complete Basic Telecommuniations course

Three members of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe are among 24 students who completed and graduated from South Dakota’s Basic Telecommunicator Certification course in Pierre last Friday, Jan. 17.The graduates include Jaymalee Turning Heart, A’Dyn Moran, AriAnna Reedeand Xandria Norris.
