Deputy Dewey County Auditor Cherie Leibel does a test run of ballot tabulating equipment on October 23 in preparation for the November 3 general election. The machine scans and counts the votes on the paper ballots and prints out a ticket to verify the count.
Like the rest of the country, Dewey County is seeing a high number of voters casting absentee ballots ahead of the November 3 general election this year.
