Beau Thomas DuBray 18, of Blackfoot began his journey to the spirit world on November 19, 2020 in Hanover, New Hampshire.

Beau was born April 18, 2002 at Rapid City Regional Hospital to Fred and Michelle (Fredericks) DuBray and joined his big sister, Elsie, to complete their family. Beau was a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe and on his mom’s side from the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation.

Beau grew up on the family ranch near Blackfoot. It is there that Beau developed his eternal connection to the buffalo and the sacred land on which he lived.

Beau was an excellent student and athlete participating in National Honor Society, Native American Club, band, football, cross country, basketball and track. After graduation he went on to study at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, where he was pursuing his interests in Native American Studies and Philosophy.

Beau is survived by his parents, Fred and Michelle DuBray and sister Elsie; his grandparents, Thomas and Judy Fredericks of Lafayette, CO; uncle and aunt, Ryan and Monique Douville (Wade and Lucas) of Boulder, CO; aunt Lynn LeCompte of Eagle Butte; uncle LeRoy DuBray and Kathy of Mobridge; all of his DuBray family and Fredericks family; as well as many friends in South Dakota and New Hampshire.

A private burial was held at the DuBray ranch on November 22, 2020, and a Celebration of Life is tentatively planned for the summer of 2021. Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge is in charge of arrangements.

The DuBray family’s address is 14551 BIA 808, Mobridge, SD 57601.
