The Timber Lake School Board welcomed a new member and dealt with a slew of consent agenda items during its annual meeting last Wednesday, July 15. The meeting followed a budget hearing abbreviated by the fact the school district still does not know what it will receive in state aid and other funding so no action was taken on the budget.

Newly-elected board member Tyrone Kraft was sworn in for a threeyear term, succeeding Joe Locken, who did not seek re-election. Sitting president Marie Gross was re-elected to that post with Jake Kraft re-elected vice-president of the board. Members also voted to continue holding meetings on the second Wednesday following the second Monday at 7 p.m.

The board discussed the proposed school re-opening plan being drafted by the administration for the 2020-2021 school year. The plan - which is required by the state and covers literally every aspect of the school’s operation - is changing every day in the new COVID-19 world and is currently a working document, according to Supt. Dan Martin.
